This internship supports the Holstein Association USA communications team in creating and managing digital content that promotes the Association's programs, services, members, and events. You'll contribute to social media strategy, website updates, email newsletters, photography, video and podcast production, and written communications while learning how a national membership organization communicates with its audience across multiple platforms.

The goal of this internship is to provide hands-on experience in agricultural communications while helping Holstein Association USA engage members through compelling storytelling and consistent digital communication.

• Create and schedule social media content across Association platforms

• Provide communications support and live event coverage for National Holstein Convention and the Dairy Data Academy

• Capture and edit photography and video content for social media, websites, and publications

• Organize, caption, archive, and manage photo and video libraries

• Write and edit press releases and stories

• Conduct interviews and gather content from members, industry partners, and event participants

• Contribute ideas for creative storytelling and member engagement opportunities

• Support other communications projects and administrative tasks as assigned

• Competitive hourly pay based on experience ($16-18/hour), paid bi-weekly

• Furnished housing provided in the Brattleboro, Vermont area for the duration of the internship

• One round-trip travel reimbursement for up to $500 for travel to and from Brattleboro

Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in agricultural communications, communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, dairy or animal science, multimedia production, or a related field

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Strong time management and organizational abilities

• Experience with social media platforms and content creation

• Strong attention to detail and consistency

• Ability to write clearly and accurately for different audiences and platforms

• Basic photography and video production skills

• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar content creation tools

• Experience with website content management systems is a plus

• Knowledge of the dairy or agricultural industry preferred

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Positive, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Applicants must be able to relocate and work in the Brattleboro, Vermont office from mid-May to mid-August for a total of 12 weeks (40 hours/week). Housing will be provided, but the intern must provide their own vehicle for transportation while in Brattleboro.

• Applicants must be able to attend National Holstein Convention from June 29–July 2, 2027, in Dallas, TX.

• Due to schedule demands during the week of National Holstein Convention, applicants cannot be a 2027 Distinguished Junior Member semifinalist, Junior Advisory Committee member, or competing in Dairy Bowl or Dairy Jeopardy.

• Applicants must be able to attend Dairy Data Academy in early August.
